Have fun learning how to create your own fabulous, one-of-a-kind silk scarf and tea towel at this Indigo Dye Day Workshop with Siri McCormick.
In the workshop, you will:
• Set up indigo dye pots
• Get hands-on and learn how to design resist-based patterns on fabric
• Design and dye a silk scarf
• Prepare and dye a cotton tea towel
• Optionally, prepare and dye other objects you bring if time allows
Who is the workshop suitable for? The workshop is open to anyone aged 16+ years. No experience is necessary.
Workshop Fee: $125 includes dye materials, tools, a silk scarf, and a tea towel. Participants may also bring other natural fibre items of their own, such as a cotton t-shirt, to dye. A list of regular household items and optional things to bring will be sent to registrants.
About the Instructor: Siri McCormick is a contemporary fibre artist from Calgary who graduated from Alberta University of the Arts. Her primary artistic focus is on smaller, personalized pieces, incorporating a fresh take on traditional techniques.
