Weave a lovely “Color and Weave” wool scarf while learning basic weaving skills. During the six-week course, you will plan and weave a scarf, learn to read weaving drafts and plan future projects, plus gain an understanding of how different looms work.
Timing: 6 weeks, every Wednesday from Jan. 17/24 to Feb. 20/24 at 10 am – 3 pm.
Location: The Basement of Millarville Racetrack Hall.
Who is the workshop suitable for? The workshop is open to adults.
Workshop Fee: $220. Students will require a few basic sewing items and their own wool yarn. A supply list will be sent out to registered students. Table looms, and other weaving equipment will be provided. SCW workshops are non-refundable.
About the Instructor: Cheryl Renwick learned to weave in the early 1980s at the Leighton Center and became a member of the Sheep Creek Weavers in 1986. She is also a Bragg Creek Artisan. Cheryl is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her in the foothills of Alberta and enjoys sharing her weaving experience and knowledge with others.
